Rihanna releases new song ‘Lift Me Up’.

Singer Rihanna has made her musical comeback with ‘Lift Me Up’, a heart-warming slow ballad that will be featured in the forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. This is the first piece of original music from Rihanna since 2016. She went on a hiatus in 2018. The new song, a tribute to late Hollywood actor Chadwick Boseman, was written by Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems, Rihanna, top film composer Ludwig Göransson and director Ryan Coogler.

According to Variety, ‘Lift Me Up’ is one of two songs from the Marvel movie, which is slated to release on November 11.

The Grammy Award winner teased the track several times in the week, and on Thursday, announced its release date alongside a black-and-white portrait.

‘Lift Me Up’ has been a long time coming for fans of Queen Riri, who have not heard any new solo from the Fenty Beauty founder since ‘Anti’, her eighth studio album. However, she did pop up on the PARTYNEXTDOOR song ‘Believe It’ in 2020. Rihana also featured on the N.E.R.D. song ‘Lemon’ in 2017. Apart from ‘Lift Me Up’, Rihanna also has another treat for her fans as she is set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show early next year.

Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky stepped out days before the release of ‘Lift Me Up’ for a date night at the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ premiere in Los Angeles, recently. It was the first red carpet appearance for the celebrity couple since they welcomed their first child together, a son, in May 2022.
