Expect some fresh 'The Lord of the Rings' movies.

Some good news for all of you to wake up to! Did you have a void in your life after the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. We have some wonderful news! Warner Bros. Pictures is in process of revamping the franchise and we may have some new films soon. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has freshly announced that newly-installed studio leaders Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy have managed to strike a deal to make multiple films based on the beloved JRR Tolkien books, reported Variety. The Variety report states that the new projects will be developed through WB label New Line Cinema. As of now, no filmmaker has been attached to the projects yet.

However, in a statement to Variety, Peter Jackson (director of first installment of 'Lord of the Rings') and his main collaborators Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens said Warner Bros. have kept them in the loop.

“We look forward to speaking with them further to hear their vision for the franchise moving forward,” Jackson, Walsh and Boyens said.

The first Jackson trilogy had starred Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, and Cate Blanchett.

The first part of 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy had made more than USD 3 billion worldwide.

The 'Lord of the Rings' is a series of three epic fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. The films are subtitled 'The Fellowship of the Ring' (2001), 'The Two Towers' (2002), and 'The Return of the King' (2003).

The films featured an ensemble cast including Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett, John Rhys-Davies, Christopher Lee, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis and Sean Bean.

The movies were set in the fictional world of Middle-earth, and the series followed the hobbit Frodo Baggins as he and the Fellowship embark on a quest to destroy the One Ring, to ensure the destruction of its maker, the Dark Lord Sauron.
