The much-awaited trailer for 'Gadar 2' has been released. The new Hindi movie is set to release in the theatres on August 11.
Tara Singh is back! The wait is finally over as the makers unveiled the much-awaited trailer of 'Gadar 2' on Wednesday evening. The new Hindi movie, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, is one of the most-anticipated projects of 2023, and fans cannot wait to see what Sunny Deol has to offer this time around. 'Gadar 2' will carry forward the events from what transpired in the 2001-film 'Gadar'.
For the unversed, 'Gadar' had released on the same day as Aamir Khan's 'Lagaan', and the movie was set during the partition of India. The plot of the 2001 film revolved around Tara Singh, played by Sunny Deol, and how he fell in love with Sakina, a Pakistani girl, played by Ameesha Patel.
The trailer for 'Gadar 2' promises a lot of action and patriotic flavour. The 2-minute-long clip showcases how the son of Tara Singh and Sakina is captured by the Pakistani army. It is then that Sunny Deol decides to take matters into his own hand, and he travels to Lahore to bring his son back.
"Agar yaha (Pakistan) ke logo ko doobara maukha mile na Hindustan me wapis basne ka, toh aadhe se zada Pakistan khali ho jayega. Katora leke ghumoge, bheek bhi nahi milegi," Sunny Deol emphatically declares in the trailer.

The trailer also showed how the famous 'Main Nikla Gaddi Leke' will be a part of 'Gadar 2' as well.
In the original 'Gadar', Sunny Deol had played a Sikh truck driver from Amritsar while Ameesha Patel portrayed the role of a Muslim girl hailing from a political family in Lahore, Pakistan.
'Gadar 2' is slated to release in the theatres on August 11, 2023. The movie will be going up against Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam's 'OMG 2' at the box office.
Ahead of the 'Gadar 2' teaser launch, the original movie had re-released in the theatres on June 9.
Excited about the second part, Sunny Deol had earlier said, "Gadar - Ek Prem Katha has been an eminent part of my life, personally as well as professionally. Tara Singh from Gadar isn't just a protagonist but went on to become a cult icon that defied all odds and crossed all boundaries for his Family and Love. Collaborating with the team after, 22 years was a creatively enriching experience."
