The film truly has a heartbreaking ending, but the performance of Mrunal Thakur will leave a lasting impact.
Hi Nanna (Netflix)
This Telugu film, starring Mrunal Thakur, Nani and Kiara Khanna, was released in cinemas in 2023. This is arguably one of the finest love stories to come out of Indian cinema in recent times, and Mrunal Thakur's performance will win you over. Her chemistry with Nani is also to die for, and both of them just create magic on screen.
Love Sonia (Disney+ Hotstar)
This is a very hard-hitting film and you need a strong heart to watch it. The film stars Mrunal Thakur as the title character. The movie also stars Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadda, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao, and Sai Tamhankar. The movie revolves around two sisters who are robbed of their innocence when one is sold by her debt-ridden father, and the other follows after her in the hope of rescuing her but becomes trapped in the sex trade herself.
Jersey (Netflix)
This Mrunal Thakur and Shahid Kapoor-starrer released in cinemas in 2022. While Shahid is doing the heavy lifting in this movie, you cannot discredit the work done by Mrunal Thakur. She makes the most of an under-written part, however, her chemistry with Shahid Kapoor is a major highlight. It is fair to say that both of them created magic.
Toofan (Prime Video)
This Hindi film stars Farhan Akhtar, Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal and Hussain Dalal. Mrunal Thakur has a heartbreaking track in the film, and spoiler alert, she dies towards the end of the movie. Her suffering and pain will definitely force you to shed a tear or two. And if one performer can make that happen, you can judge the greatness of the performance in the project.
