Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu recently made headlines after a video went viral in which she appeared to be hitting a person. The incident had happened during the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2023 event in Dubai, where the star was talking to the media. When she was conversing with an interviewer on the red carpet, it was then that a person abruptly crossed in front of the camera. Frustrated by this, Lakshmi struck the person’s back. When another man tried to block her interview, Lakshmi said, “Go behind the camera dude. Basic.”

In the latest entertainment news, the actress has explained the incident, firmly maintaining her stance that she stands by her actions.

"It was not some random person taking a video. But he was so nonchalant and just walked through the camera. I am an actor, you don’t come in front of my camera. Never do that with any artiste. He rightly got what he deserved. These are basic manners that people don’t have. I slapped him and he deserved it. I didn’t go out of my way. He came into my world," she told Hindustan Times.

Lakshmi then said that the interviewer had asked the cameraperson not to record it, but she said that she was not afraid of the clip getting out.

"I asked her to keep it. I can protect myself. I don’t care if it gets out. I am also an interviewer and have seen people come and say certain things where they feel they have shared too much. And then I get a call back asking me not to air that. I’ve done that for every celebrity and you respect them. But I don’t care,” she said.

For the unversed, Lakshmi Manchu is the daughter of actor Mohan Babu and late Vidya Devi. She had made her Tollywood debut in the 2011 film 'Anaganaga O Dheerudu'.

The actress has then starred in several projects like 'Lakshmi Bomb', 'Pitta Kathalu', 'Monster' and 'Guntur Talkies' among others.

She last appeared in Mohanlal-starrer 'Monster' in 2022.
