His latest Telugu film 'Kushi' which released in theatres on September 1, 2023 has been winning hearts and both critics and audiences have appreciated the film. For the uninitiated, 'Kushi' also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a leading role. 'Kushi' is Vijay Deverakonda's first hit movie after five years. In the latest entertainment news, Vijay Deverakonda recently attended the success celebration of 'Kushi' in Vizag, and it was there he announced that he would be donating Rs 1 crore from his remuneration of 'Kushi' to 100 families.

"You are happy and I am happy. I am thinking of something and I don't know if I can pull it off or whether it's right or wrong. But, if I don't do it, I'll be sleepless. To spread joy with you guys, I will donate Rs 1 crore from my 'Kushi' salary to 100 families. I shall select 100 families in need and present them with Rs 1 lakh cheque each in the next 10 days. My success, my happiness and my salary should be shared with you all," said Vijay Deverakonda during the event, as reported by Pinkvilla.
"I will share a form on my social media page tomorrow. I still haven't come up with a plan. I will name the form 'Spreading Kushi' or 'Devera family' and send it. If the money helps people to pay their rent or fees or anything, I'd be happy. We will have a success celebration for 'Kushi' in Hyderabad in the next 10 days. Before that, I will try and complete this and help 100 families. Once I complete this, I'd be able to enjoy the success truly," he added.

As per several reports, 'Kushi' has already grossed Rs 80 crore at the worldwide box office.
Kushi's success is crucial for both Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as their last projects 'Liger' and 'Shakuntalam' had tanked at the box office.
For the unversed, Samantha and Vijay had previously collaborated together in Nag Ashwin’s 'Mahanati', but this is the first time that they have been paired together in a full-fledged role.
'Kushi' has been directed by Shiva Nirvana and the plot revolves around the characters Aaradhya and Viplav. Vijay Deverakonda is playing the role of Viplav in the film, while Samantha is playing Aaradhya.
Talking about Samantha Ruth Prabhu, it was confirmed that the actress will be taking one-year break to prioritise her health and seek treatment for her autoimmune disease, Myositis.
