‘Arjun Reddy’ Fame Shalini Pandey's Shocking Revelation, Says Managers “Took Advantage” Of Her Naive Nature
Shalini Pandey revealed that she was body-shamed when she started her career, and she also added that her ex-managers took advantage of her naive nature.
Indian actress Shalini Pandey gained widespread recognition for her debut in the Telugu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ (2017), co-starring Vijay Deverakonda. Following the success of ‘Arjun Reddy’, Shalini Pandey appeared in many movies like ‘Meri Nimmo’, ‘118’, ‘Mahanati’, ‘100% Kadhal’ and ‘Nishabdham’. In addition to her work in South Indian cinema, Shalini Pandey made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ (2022), starring alongside Ranveer Singh. Shalini Pandey recently revealed that she was body-shamed when she started her career in the entertainment industry.
She also added that her ex-managers took advantage of her naive nature.
“I was really body-shamed back then. Also, since I was new and down South, I didn’t understand the language, and my managers at the time just took advantage of my naivety and made me do things,” Shalini Pandey told India Today.
“I was constantly trying to understand what people wanted from me,” she added.
Speaking further, she said that being a person who has always been into sports, she had an athletic body. “Even now, I get shamed by people,” the actress added.
Earlier, Shalini Pandey had revealed that she ran away from home to pursue her dream of acting. In an earlier media interaction, she said, “My papa wanted me to do engineering. I even tried it, but I wasn’t able to do it. And my papa just wouldn’t agree to let me try acting.”
She also revealed that she tried to convince her father for four years and eventually she had to make the decision of running away.
Speaking further, she added, “Now it seems like a joke but at that time it was very difficult. So, I ran away.”
Shalini Pandey was most recently seen in the Netflix film ‘Maharaj’ alongside Aamir Khan's son Junaid, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sharvari Wagh.
She will next be seen in the Netflix series 'Dabba Cartel', alongside Jyotika and Shabana Azmi.
