Chiranjeevi has come out in support of Trisha Krishnan and he has slammed Mansoor Ali Khan for his “disgusting” comments.

Indian actor Mansoor Ali Khan is being bashed left, right and centre on social media following his derogatory remarks about actress Trisha Krishnan, with whom he had shared the screen in recently released 'Leo'. Many celebrities have rallied behind the 'Ponniyin Selvan' actress and the latest to support to Trisha is none other than Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi. For the unversed, Trisha had earlier vowed to never work with Mansoor Ali Khan again after the latter's lewd comments at a press conference.

Speaking during a press conference, Mansoor Ali Khan had said, "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought I would carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the shoot in Kashmir.”

In the latest entertainment news, Chiranjeevi took to X (formerly Twitter), and said, "My attention was drawn to some reprehensible comments made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan about Trisha. The comments are distasteful and disgusting not just for an Artiste but for any woman or girl. These comments must be condemned in the strongest words. They reek of perversion."

"I stand with @trishtrashers and every woman who has to be subject to such horrid comments," he added.

Trisha has also replied to Chiranjeevi's post, saying, "Thank you Chiru sir”.

Earlier, 'Leo' director Lokesh Kanagaraj had also called out Mansoor Ali Khan.

“Disheartened and enraged to hear the misogynistic comments made by Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan, given that we all worked in the same team. Respect for women, fellow artists and professionals should be a non-negotiable in any industry and I absolutely condemn this behaviour," Lokesh wrote.

Earlier, Trisha had also slammed the actor for his comments. "A recent video has come to my notice where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive and in bad taste. He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind," she said.

After Trisha's post, National Commission For Women (NCW) also demanded stern action.

The National Commission for Women is deeply concerned about the derogatory remarks made by actor Mansoor Ali Khan towards actress Trisha Krishnan. We’re taking suo motu in this matter directing the DGP to invoke IPC section 509 B and other relevant laws. Such remarks normalize violence against women and must be condemned,” the post read on X.

For the unversed, section 509B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertains to sexual harassment by electronic mode.
