After Golden Globes 2023, ‘RRR’ Bags 5 Nominations At Critics Choice Awards
It’s raining nominations for ‘RRR’! After a stellar showing at Golden Globes 2023, the pan-India film has bagged five nominations at Critics Choice Awards 2023.
There’s no stopping for SS Rajamouli’s directorial ‘RRR’! After making history by bagging two nominations at the Golden Globes 2023, the pan-India film continued its global dominance as it scored five nods at the upcoming Critics Choice Awards. ‘RRR’, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, landed nominations for Best Picture, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Foreign Language Film, Best Visual Effects and Best Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’.
The film’s team took to Instagram to announce the big feat.
In the Best Picture category, ‘RRR’ is competing against ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘Babylon’, ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’, ‘Elvis’, ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, ‘The Fabelmans’, ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’, ‘Tar’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘Women Talking’.
For the Best Director trophy, SS Rajamouli will be competing with James Cameron, Damien Chazelle, Todd Field, Baz Luhrmann, Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert, Martin McDonagh, Sarah Polley, Gina Prince and Steven Spielberg.
In the Visual Effects category, ‘RRR’ will be facing off with ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘The Batman’, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.
‘RRR’ is nominated alongside ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, ‘Argentina, 1985’ ‘Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths’, ‘Close’ and ‘Decision to Leave’ for the Best Foreign Language Film trophy.
In the Best Song category, the period action film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is up against ‘Carolina’, ‘Ciao Papa’, ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Lift Me Up’ and ‘New Body Rhumba’.
‘RRR’, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, has bagged various international awards including Rajamouli’s Best Director award by the New York Film Critics Circle. It also won the Saturn Award for Best International Film.
The National Board of Review named ‘RRR’ as one of its ten best films of the year. The movie’s music director MM Keeravani recently bagged the Los Angeles Film Critics Association award for best music score.
