Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is currently winning a lot of praise for his recently-released movie 'Maharaja'. The new Tamil film is causing quite a stir at the box office, and 'Maharaja' is now nearing the Rs 30 crore mark in India. In the latest entertainment news, the makers recently held a success event for the Telugu film media as 'Maharaja' is also doing very well in the Telugu language. During the interaction, one reporter asked Vijay Sethupathi, whether he rejected Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa: The Rise'.
As per Pinkvilla, to this question, Vijay Sethupathi replied in Telugu, roughly translating in English to “No, I did not reject the role."
The actor continued, "But, you should not always speak the truth. It is not good for you, Sir. Sometimes, lying is good.”
In classic Vijay Sethupathi fashion, the Tamil superstar managed to stump the media about whether he rejected the role or not.
For the unversed, there were reports during the shooting of 'Pushpa: The Rise', that Vijay Sethupathi was approached to play the role of a villain in the film.
Coming back to 'Maharaja', the project marks Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film.
The film is an action drama, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and others in crucial roles.
The movie has been written and Nithilan Swaminathan and produced by Jagadish Palanisamy under the Route production house.
The music for the film has been composed by Kannada music director Ajaneesh B Loknath. The film’s cinematography has been handled by Dinesh Purushothaman, while the editing of the movie has been done by Philomin Raj.
On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi will next be seen in the film 'Ace'. Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, the film also stars 'Sapta Sagaradaache Ello' actress Rukmini Vasanth in the lead role.
