Vijay's 'Leo' is slated to release worldwide on October 19 but it’s already creating a wave, not just in India but overseas as well.

Fans cannot wait for the release of Vijay-starrer 'Leo'. The new Tamil movie which has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, will be releasing worldwide on October 19. In the latest entertainment news, even before release, the new Tamil movie is creating waves, and it has now emerged that 'Leo' has managed to surpass Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Pathaan' as the Tamil film is all set to register the all-time highest Day 1 collection for an Indian film in the UK.

This development was confirmed by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on X (formerly Twitter).

"VIJAY - ‘LEO’: MASSIVE RESPONSE OVERSEAS… #ThalapathyVijay’s latest outing #Leo is REDEFINING HISTORY in the #Overseas market… An aggressive distribution strategy [#UK and #Europe distribution by #AhimsaEntertainment] has set an ALL-TIME RECORD among #Indian films, dethroning #Pathaan in advance ticket sales for Day 1," Taran Adarsh wrote.

Earlier, Ahimsa Entertainment had revealed that '15 rated version' of 'Leo' would be releasing in the UK. For the unversed, Ahimsa Entertainment is the distributor of the film in the UK.

The distributor also said that 'Leo' is "intensely raw and violent", and has gory scenes.

"#LEO is a 100% Lokesh Kanagaraj film — intensely raw and violent. Strictly for ages 15+. We've decided against a 12A version to stay true to the film's intent," Ahimsa Entertainment wrote on X.

Earlier, 'Leo' trailer had become the fastest Indian movie trailer to reach 2 million likes on YouTube.

Arjun and Sanjay Dutt are playing the role of main antagonists in 'Leo'. It is not known whether 'Leo' is based on David Cronenberg’s 'A History of Violence' which had released in 2005.

'Leo's cast also includes Gautham Menon, Trisha, Priya Anand, and Mansoor Ali Khan. Anirudh Ravichander of 'Jawan', and 'Jailer' fame, has composed the music for the film.

For the unversed, 'Leo' is the second collaboration between Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj after 'Master', which had released in 2021.
