As soon as the screenshot went viral on social media, fans started speculating it as a jibe at a Telugu producer's appearance, who had criticised Samantha Ruth Prabhu for doing item songs in movies after her divorce from Naga Chaitanya. Now, the producer named Chitti Babu has reacted to this cryptic post of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, saying the actress is getting "quite old" and her "glamorous days were over."
“She has noticed my ear hair and hair grows in many other parts of my body and I have no objection to study and report on it... Samantha is not 18-20 years old now. Quite old, so I said she was not a suitable choice for the role of the iconic beauty Shakuntala, what’s wrong with that? Her glamorous days are over and it’s time to move on to supporting roles," the producer said in an interview with TV9 Kannada.com.
Earlier, Samantha Ruth Prabhu had shared a screenshot of the internet saying that people have hair growing from ears because of "increased testosterone."
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was last seen in 'Shaakuntalam' and the movie received negative reviews, and the movie failed to collect good amount of money at the box office.
The actress is currently shooting for Prime Video India's show 'Citadel' in which she would be sharing the screen with Varun Dhawan.
The show is being directed by Raj and DK.
