'Jailer' Actor G Marimuthu Dies Aged 57, Vijay Sethupathi Condoles His Demise

Actor and director G Marimuthu, who rose to fame with popular Tamil TV serial 'Ethir Neechal', has reportedly succumbed to a heart attack.

Actor and director G Marimuthu has reportedly succumbed to a heart attack.

Actor and director G Marimuthu, who rose to fame with popular Tamil TV serial 'Ethir Neechal', has reportedly succumbed to a heart attack. The actor was aged 57, The Indian Express reported. For the unversed, G Marimuthu was last seen in Rajinikanth's recent release 'Jailer'. As per The Indian Express, the actor did a dubbing session for a TV serial on Friday and it was then that he experienced uneasiness which caused him to return home. The actor is survived by his wife M Bagiyalakshmi, son Akhilan and daughter Aishwarya.

"He finished his half of the dubbing work and left the studio saying he felt suffocated. We thought he would be standing outside to get some fresh air, but he did not return to the studio for a long time. When we went and checked outside, he was not there. He had left in his car. I called his daughter who informed me that he was admitted to Suriya Hospital. When we went there, we learnt that he is no more. This is a huge loss," Tamil serial actor Kamalesh told Sun News.

For the unversed, G Marimuthu began his career in the Tamil film industry as an assistant director. He has also worked in several films such as Ajith Kumar's blockbuster 'Aasai'.

Director of 'Jailer', Nelson Dilipkumar on Friday tweeted: "Saddened!! Rest in peace #Marimuthu sir ! Remembering the times with you…”

'Jawan' actor Vijay Sethupathi posted a pic of the late actor, and said, "#Ripmarimuthu."

Sun Pictures also tweeted, “Condolences! Your work has been impeccable and irreplaceable. Rest in peace #Marimuthu.”

G Marimuthu had also directed a few Tamil films such as ‘Kannum Kannum’ and ‘Pulivaal’.
