Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam Team Up For Gangster Film Titled 'Thug Life'

Kamal Haasan's filmography keeps on getting better. Recently, he had unveiled his first look in the upcoming Tamil film 'Indian 2', and in the latest Tamil cinema news, the veteran actor will now be teaming up with acclaimed director Mani Ratnam for a gangster film. The title of the new Tamil movie was unveiled recently, and it is called 'Thug Life'. 

The teaser was also unveiled recently, and in the clip, we can see Kamal Haasan sporting long hair, and he is wearing rugged clothes.

In the teaser, Kamal Haasan's character says, "My name is Rengaraya Sakthivel Nayakan." As he is talking to the camera, a gang races towards him with lethal weapons. He then says, "Kayalpattu Kaaran. The moment I was born, they decided my fate that I was a criminal… gonda… Yakuza. In Japanese, Yakuza means gangster."

After saying this, Kamal Haasan disrobes his hood to reveal his martial arts costume that's rugged. We are then introduced to some brilliantly choreographed action sequences.

However, it is not known whether the film is set in the past or the future or a fantasy world. 

Apart from Kamal Haasan, 'Thug Life' also stars Dulquer Salmaan, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi in pivotal roles.

AR Rahman has composed the music for the film will Sreekar Prasad will be editing it.

For the unversed, 'Thug Life' will be the second collaboration between Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan. They had previously come together for the 1987-film 'Nayakan'.

'Thug Life' is being jointly produced by  Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies.
