The early reactions to ‘Leo’ have started coming in, and the movie has so far gotten a mixed response.

Vijay, who is fondly referred to as 'Thalapathy', has returned to the big screen with his latest offering in the form of Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Leo'. The new Tamil movie, released in theatres on Thursday (October 19), amid high expectations and many controversies. For the unversed, the movie has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Firstly, many political outfits criticised Vijay for glorifying smoking, and later the director was also pulled up for romanticising violence. However, in the latest entertainment news, it seems that fans of Vijay are happy with 'Leo'. Fans of the star have been emphatically stating that 'Leo' is amazing, and the director has done full justice to the star power of their favourite actor.

Fans have also been hyping up a surprise cameo in the film, and they are ecstatic about the movie being part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe

However, #LeoDisaster is also trending on X (formerly Twitter). Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared his review of the film, saying the film "fails to live up to the expectations" created by "unnecessary hype."

Ahead of 'Leo's release, director Lokesh Kanagaraj had taken to X to express his feelings. He thanked the fans and he rounded off his note with, "And to answer all your questions if this film comes under ‘LCU’ or not, you’ll find out in a few hours.”

For the unversed, Leo's first show started at 4 AM in Karnataka and Kerala, while in Tamil Nadu and New Delhi, the first show started at 9 AM. 

Leo's Telugu premiere will be taking place on October 20 after a City Civil Court passed an order, withholding the release. 

'Leo's cast also includes Gautham Menon, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Priya Anand, and Mansoor Ali Khan. Anirudh Ravichander of 'Jawan', and 'Jailer' fame, has composed the music for the film.

Arjun and Sanjay Dutt are playing the role of main antagonists in 'Leo'. It is not known whether 'Leo' is based on David Cronenberg’s 'A History of Violence' which had released in 2005.
