The controversy surrounding Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, starring Neeru Bajwa, Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, continues to grow.
The controversy around the upcoming Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa, and Hania Aamir, seems to be deepening with each passing day. In a fresh update, Neeru Bajwa has unfollowed Pakistani actress Hania Aamir on Instagram and also removed all promotional content related to the film – including its trailer and songs – from her profile. While she continues to follow Diljit Dosanjh, her social media move has added fuel to rumours of a rift. Previously, Neeru did follow Hania, but not anymore.
Her timeline does not feature any songs or trailer of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. Her last post is a video announcement of her upcoming Hindi film ‘Son of Sardaar 2’, in which she will be sharing the screen with Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur.

For the unversed, the controversy surrounding ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ began with the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, which drew criticism given the ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan.
Several cine organisations have demanded a ban on Diljit Dosanjh, with some writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to revoke his citizenship and ban his social media accounts.
The Punjabi movie has been released in theatres internationally today. However, the makers of the film have skipped an India release.
Diljit Dosanjh has been facing intense criticism for working with Hania Aamir in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and even promoting the project. He recently spoke about his collaboration with the Punjabi actress.
Speaking to the BBC Asian Network, Diljit said, “Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi.”
‘Sardaar Ji 3’ is a horror comedy. It has been directed by Amar Hundal and it is the third installment in the successful ‘Sardaar Ji’ franchise. The previous two films also starred Diljit and Neeru in the lead roles.
