The rumours are rife that there would be a remake of Tamil movie titled 'Theri'.
'Theri' is a popular Tamil movie which had released in 2016 starring Vijay, Samantha Prabhu and Amy Jackson. The rumours are rife that there would be a Telugu remake of the movie and Pawan Kalyan would be starring in it. However, the news has not gone done well with the fans of the actor. The fans are making their voices heard by saying that they want to see the actor do an original story rather than a remake of some other film.

"WeDontWantTheriRemake hashtag has been trending in India since Friday morning and the hashtag has garnered more than 2,00,000 mentions on the micro-blogging website.
Director Harish Shankar had recently talked about his new movie with Pawan Kalyan and Mythri Movie Makers. As soon as the filmmaker posted about a major announcement coming soon, fans started speculating whether 'Theri' is being remade.

'Theri' which released in 2016 is a Tamil-language vigilante action thriller film written and directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner V Creations.
The film starred Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson. In the film, a former police officer gets on a mission to protect his daughter from his past enemies.
The movie had garnered both critical and commercial acclaim. It is considered to be Vijay's one of the most popular movies.
