'Project K' Now Titled 'Kalki 2898 AD': First Teaser Shows Prabhas, Deepika Padukone-Starrer To Be Dystopian Sci-Fi Film

Prabhas and Kamal Haasan unveiled the teaser of their upcoming film 'Project K' at the San Diego Comic Con. Besides the teaser, the makers also announced that the final title of the movie is 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Prabhas and Kamal Haasan unveiled the teaser at the event titled ‘This is Project K: First Glimpse of India’s Mytho-Sci-fi Epic’.

For the unversed, the upcoming movie is being directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies.

The teaser of 'Kalki 2898 AD' shows a war-torn world in the future, where people are being ruled by dark forces and technology. We are then shown how people are being treated violently by the oppresor.

"When the world is taken over by darkness, a force will arise. The end begins now," the teaser states.

In the teaser, we can see Deepika Padukone's character being caught up in an emotional turmoil. On the other hand, Prabhas seems to be playing a brave warrior who is trying to save the world. 

Amitabh Bachchan's character is shown to be playing a warrior draped in bandages. One can also see the influence of Star Wars and Marvel movies in the teaser.

For the unversed, as per Hindu mythology, Kalki is believed to be the final incarnation of Lord Vishu, who is yet to appear. 

'Project K' is being touted as a dystopian sci-fi film about the futuristic re-imagination of the Hindu God Vishnu.

Reportedly, the budget of the film is believed to be around Rs 700 crore and it will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Prabhas was last seen in Om Raut's 'Adipurush' and the movie tanked at the box office as fans expressed their fury with the modern re-telling of 'Ramayana'.

The Telugu superstar will next be seen in Prashanth Neel's 'Salaar' and the movie will release in theatres on September 28.
