‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ Day 1 Mind-Boggling Numbers Out, Here’s How Much It Made
Here’s how much ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ made on its opening day.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has lived up to its hype as the Sukumar directorial smashed all records on Day 1 of its release to emerge as the biggest Indian opener of all time. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Pushpa 2’ minted Rs 165 crore across all languages on the opening day of its release. It also collected Rs 10.1 crore in Telugu in Wednesday previews. Hence, the total collection currently stands at Rs 175.1 crore in India.
As per trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ has made approximately Rs 282.91 crore worldwide.
The domestic opening collection of ‘Pushpa 2’ has beaten the previous best of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, which had made Rs 133 crore on Day 1.
‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ earned Rs 121 crore on its first day, while Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ minted Rs 114 crore on the opening day across all languages. Yash’s ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ collected Rs 116 crore on Day 1.
‘Pushpa 2’ earned Rs 95.1 crore in Telugu on Day 1, while it minted Rs 67 crore in Hindi. As a result, ‘Pushpa 2’ has also beaten the record of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ to register the biggest opening in the Hindi language on the opening day of its release. ‘Jawan’ had earned Rs 65.5 crore on Day 1.
On the opening day of its release, ‘Pushpa 2’ made Rs 7 crore in Tamil, Rs 5 crore in Malayalam, and Rs 1 crore in Kannada. On Day 1, ‘Pushpa 2’ had an overall 82.66 percent occupancy in Telugu.
The Hindi version's overall occupancy was 59 percent on Day 1. As a result of releasing in theatres on Thursday, Allu Arjun's film will now enjoy a four-day weekend.
In terms of worldwide collection, the highest-grossing Indian film of all time is Aamir Khan's 'Dangal', as it minted over Rs 2500 crore after its China release. The second spot is held by Prabhas and Rana Daggubati's 'Baahubali 2', which collected Rs 1788 crore during its run. It remains to be seen if ‘Pushpa 2’ manages to beat these films.
‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is the sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 blockbuster film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil have reprised their roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.
Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings have bankrolled the film. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the film’s music.
