Rajinikanth has finally had his say on him touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Superstar Rajinikanth has been trending heavily on social media after he visited Uttar Pradesh. The 'Jailer' actor was criticised by some fans for touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. For the unversed, Rajinikanth had met the UP CM at the latter's residence in Lucknow. In the latest entertainment news, Rajinikanth has finally broken his silence on the entire incident, saying it is his habit to touch the feet of Yogis or Sanyasis.
“Whether a sanyasi or a yogi, it is my habit to fall at their feet even if they are younger than me. That’s what I did,” he told reporters, as reported by news agency PTI.
Rajinikanth had reached Chennai on Monday evening and it was then that he interacted with some reporters.
For the unversed, when visuals emerged of Rajinikanth touching the feet of Uttar Pradesh CM, many users on internet questioned if it was okay for a 72-year-old to touch the feet of a much-younger CM.
Rajinikanth, while interacting with the reports, also thanked the fans for making his latest movie 'Jailer', a grand success.
When he was asked whether he would fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Rajinikanth said that he does not want to discuss politics.
Talking about 'Jailer', the movie also stars Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan and Yogi Babu.
With 'Jailer', Rajinikanth returned to the big screen after a gap of two years. The movie is also Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with director Nelson Dilipkumar.
The movie has already grossed the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide, and it is poised to break the record of '2.0' to become the most-successful Tamil movie ever.
Talking about Rajinikanth, the actor will next be seen in 'Lal Salaam'. He is also rumoured to be joining forces with Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next film.
