Some films transcend their screen time and become chapters in the lives of those who made them. For Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna, ‘Dear Comrade’ is one such chapter. Celebrating six years since the release of the romantic action drama, the actress took to Instagram to share a heart-warming photo dump – full of nostalgia, behind-the-scenes joy, and quiet love. Her caption was a love letter to the film, her team, and most notably, her co-star and rumoured beau, Vijay Deverakonda.

Rashmika Mandanna captioned the post, “6 years of Dear Comrade. A film filled with so much love, happiness, positivity and all and more love. These are some photos captured years ago, I still have them in my phone and I keep looking back at them.. and thinking what a beautiful time I had and what beautiful memories we all made shooting this film. The carousel began with a throwback picture of Rashmika Mandanna in cricket gear, bat held high, flashing a victorious smile. As ‘Dear Comrade’ featured her as a state-level cricketer, the moment captured her character’s sporting spirit – raw, determined, and radiant.

Another picture saw Rashmika beaming beside Vijay and the film’s director Bharat Kamma, her denim jacket and glasses adding an off-duty charm. The trio looked like they’re caught mid-laugh, capturing the camaraderie the film was built on.

A still from the film showed Rashmika raising her fist in solidarity inside a classroom, echoing the activist spirit that pulsed through the narrative. Then came a traditional moment – a selfie with Vijay and the director during a festive shoot day. Rashmika, dressed in a teal saree with gold jewellery, exuded grace, while Vijay smiled beside her in a casual striped shirt.

Another shot featured a close-up of Rashmika with an elderly lady, faces pressed together and smiles soft. In one of the last few frames, we got a serene image of Rashmika in a pink tee, standing by a forest stream, and a high-energy group selfie with the crew flashing peace signs under the evening sky.

Among the most cinematic was a still of Vijay and Rashmika during a celebration scene – he in mustard kurta, she in a bright saree – surrounded by petals in mid-air. Another picture featured her with cricket legend Mithali Raj, tying back to her role and the inspiration behind it.

Helmed by Bharat Kamma and backed by Mythri Movie Makers along with Big Ben Cinemas, ‘Dear Comrade’ was a love story between a hot-blooded student union leader (Played by Vijay) and a state-level cricketer (Played by Rashmika).

Aside from Rashmika and Vijay, the project also featured Shruti Ramachandran, Raj Arjun, Suhas, Kaali Venkat Vikas, and Divya Sripada in crucial roles, along with others.

In the years that followed, Rashmika and Vijay have been rumoured of dating each other. They have also worked together in 2018's 'Geetha Govindam.'

Up next, Rashmika will be seen as a woman from the Gond community in her forthcoming film titled ‘Mysaa’. She will also star in Rahul Ravindran’s directorial ‘The Girlfriend’.
