Fans Defend Sai Pallavi After Trolls Target Her For Wearing Swimsuit
Sai Pallavi was trolled after sister Pooja Kannan shared beach vacation pictures showing the actress in a swimsuit.
Indian actress Sai Pallavi, often celebrated for her simple, grounded persona, recently found herself the subject of online trolling after pictures from her beach vacation with sister Pooja Kannan surfaced on Instagram. Pooja Kannan shared a series of photos from their holiday, but it was Sai Pallavi’s appearance in swimwear that triggered criticism from a section of social media users, even as her fans rushed to her defence.
Over the weekend, Pooja Kannan posted candid glimpses of their getaway, captioned, “Beach high #sunkissed @saipallavi.senthamarai.” Most of the photos featured Pooja sitting by the shore, basking in the sunlight and smiling as Sai clicked her pictures. A few selfies of the sisters together also made it to the carousel, capturing their playful bond. Among them, one image of Sai in a swimsuit and another in a wetsuit sparked heated reactions online.

Almost immediately, trolls began targeting Sai Pallavi, mocking her for stepping away from the traditional image she has maintained in her films. One user commented, “Hence proved she belongs to all so-called heroines... keep aside of traditional wear.” Another sarcastically wrote, “Traditional ammai,” adding laughter emojis. Some went further, claiming, “So onscreen traditional Sai Pallavi wears a bikini in real life.”
However, Sai Pallavi’s loyal fans countered the trolling, highlighting the hypocrisy and unrealistic expectations imposed on actors. “That’s Ms Pallavi’s wish, what she wants to wear. What do you expect to wear underwater?? A saree?? Come on,” one supporter responded.
Another added, “People wear swimsuits while swimming! People can wear what they are comfortable with. It’s their choice.” Fans also condemned the circulation of morphed images, calling out the lack of respect for her privacy. “There is nothing wrong with her wearing those clothes. It is her choice, it is their choice,” another fan asserted.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sai Pallavi continues to stay busy with an impressive slate of projects. She was last seen opposite Naga Chaitanya in Chandoo Mondeti’s ‘Thandel’.
