Samantha Ruth Prabhu gets a special surprise from a devoted fan.

In India, fandom often goes far beyond admiration – it becomes a form of devotion. From building temples to organising grand celebrations, die-hard fans sometimes go above and beyond to make their favourite stars feel special. And once again, a display of worship has gone viral – this time involving none other than actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. In a heart-warming tribute, a devoted fan named Tenali Sandeep from Alapadu village in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, has built an entire temple dedicated to Samantha, unveiling it on the occasion of her 38th birthday. Samantha turned a year older on April 28.

Dubbed the “Temple of Samantha”, the space features two busts of the actress, one slightly larger than the other, surrounded by flowers, streamers, and pure admiration. A video doing the rounds online showed Sandeep celebrating Samantha’s birthday by cutting a cake and arranging lunch for orphans at the temple site.

Check out the viral video here:

Speaking to the press, he shared, My name is Tenali Sandeep. I hail from Alapadu gramam in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh. I am a huge admirer of Samantha. I have been celebrating her birthday for three years now. I also put up this temple then. Every year, I ensure I feed children and cut a cake on the day. Her philanthropy inspires me, and I want to follow in her footsteps.”

This kind of fan devotion isn’t new to Indian cinema. Several South Indian stars, including Rajinikanth, NTR, Khushbu Sundar, Sridevi, Nayanthara, and Nidhhi Agerwal, reportedly have temples built in their honour. Reportedly, even Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Sonu Sood have temples dedicated to them.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is known not just for her acting but also for her philanthropic work, clearly made a strong impact on Sandeep and many like him.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Samantha was last seen in the 2023 film ‘Kushi’ opposite Vijay Deverakonda, and in the 2024 Prime Video series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ with Varun Dhawan. Though the series was decently received, it was not renewed for a second season.

Looking ahead, the actress has exciting projects lined up. She will soon appear in ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’, a film she is also producing under her own banner, Tralala Moving Pictures. Additionally, she’s set to star in Raj & DK’s upcoming Netflix series, ‘Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom’.
