Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to take a one-year break from work in order to prioritise her health. After finishing the work for Raj and DK's 'Citadel' Indian spin-off, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has decided to take a hiatus to focus on her well-being and seek additional treatment for her autoimmune condition, Myositis. The development was confirmed by the actress' publicist Mahendra.

"It’s true that Samantha won’t be taking on any new projects for one year as she is all set to leave for the USA for the treatment of her autoimmune condition, Myositis. If her condition improves earlier than expected, she may return within six months. However, the planned duration of her break is one year," The Indian Express quoted Mahendra as saying.

"She is already making good progress in her recovery, and her doctors have advised her to take mandatory rest. Samantha will depart for the US in the fourth week of August (Aug. 20)," the publicist added.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's last two signed projects were 'Citadel' and the Telugu film 'Kushi'. 'Citadel' recently wrapped up its shooting, while Samantha is currently involved in the final schedule of 'Kushi'.

'Kushi' is the second collaboration between Samantha Ruth Prabhu and director Shiv Nirvana after the successful film 'Majili'.

The movie would see Samantha pair up alongside Vijay Deverakonda for the very first time.

The Telugu movie is slated to release in the theatres in September this year.
