Vijay Deverakonda Says He Took Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Battle With Myositis "Lightly" During ‘Kushi’ Shooting
Not many people would know but Samantha Ruth Prabhu's battle with myositis began when she was shooting for 'Kushi' alongside Vijay Deverakonda.
Not many people would know but actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu's battle with myositis began when she was shooting for her upcoming Telugu film titled 'Kushi' alongside Vijay Deverakonda. In the latest entertainment news, Vijay Deverakonda has spoken about Samantha Ruth Prabhu's battle with the autoimmune disease and he highlighted how he and the film's director Shiv Nirvana did not take her complaints about her poor health seriously.
It was during the shoot that the duo realised how much pain the actress was enduring.
"She struggled a lot for the film. We started this film in April 2022 with a smile on our faces. We had completed 60 per cent. Only 30-35 per cent shooting was pending. By July, Sam’s health condition deteriorated. She said that her health wasn’t good. Shiva and I were like ‘You look beautiful. What problem do you have?’ We took it lightly. Later, we understood her plight," Vijay said at an event, as reported by Indian Express.
"I know that she is not completely healthy today. She gets headaches and her eyes hurt when she faces the light. Yet, she shows up. She knows that all of you are here with your love," he added.
The 'Arjun Reddy' star also said that Samantha’s health deteriorated so much so that she had stopped meeting and talking to everyone around her.
“She was extremely unwell. She fought so many battles. At that point, she decided to share it with everyone, just to tell people that there’s hope,” said Vijay.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has now taken a year-long break from work to recover from her health condition.
However, she is currently promoting 'Kushi' with Vijay Deverakonda.
Other than Samantha and Vijay, the film also stars Lakshmi, Rohini, Jayaram, Vennela Kishore and Sachin Khedekar.
The new Telugu film will be releasing in the theatres on September 1, 2023.
