Watch: Vijay Sethupathi Loses Cool At Reporter For Latter's Question About Hindi Imposition
Vijay Sethupathi ended up losing his cool at a reporter, who had questioned him about Hindi imposition in Tamil Nadu
Actor Vijay Sethupathi is gearing up for his next release -- 'Merry Christmas', which also stars Katrina Kaif. The film which has been shot both in Hindi and Tamil, will be releasing in cinemas on January 12, 2024. The actor has been busy off late promoting the film and in the latest entertainment news, during a press conference, Vijay Sethupathi was asked about doing a Hindi film while the politics of Tamil Nadu is against the imposition of the language.
The 'Super Deluxe' actor then lost his cool, and he asked the reporter what is the point of the question.
“Tamil Nadu politics, for the past 75 years has been against Hindi-imposition. Even now, we are wearing ‘Hindi Theriyadhu Poda (Don’t Know Hindi Poda)’ t-shirts," said the reporter.
Before the reporter could finish his question, Vijay Sethupathi said, "You asked the same question when Aamir Khan Sir was here. Why do you do that? What’s the point of the question? What is the point of asking it to people like me?”

The host of the event then tried to cool down the situation by moving on to the next question, however, Sethupathi was in mood to let the reporter go, without an explanation.
"No, wait a minute. What’s the point of the question," said Sethupathi.
“It is because, in Tamil Nadu, we keep getting told that we shouldn’t learn Hindi," replied the reporter.
Sethupathi then said, "Firstly, no one said anything of that sort. We never said not to study Hindi. All we are saying is not to impose Hindi. There’s a difference. People are learning Hindi here."
"Your question is wrong. It is an unnecessary and irrelevant question for the event. No one has stopped anyone from learning Hindi. You have to see the explanation even by PTR (Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Tamil Nadu Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services of Tamil Nadu). Thank you," he added.
For the unversed, 'Merry Christmas' also stars Radhika Apte, Sanjay Kapoor and Vinayak Pathak in important roles.
