Writer and SS Rajamouli's father Vijayendra Prasad has given a big update regarding the sequel of 'RRR'.

SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' which had released in theatres last year, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, turned out to be a massive success, and the Telugu film brought laurels for the country at this year's Oscars and Golden Globes. 'Naatu Naatu', a track from the movie won the Best Original Song at the Oscars and Golden Globes. In the latest entertainment news, writer Vijayendra Prasad has hinted that the sequel of 'RRR' could be set in Africa. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vijayendra Prasad said: "It’s both a yes and a no. After the release of RRR I shared an idea of the sequel where the story continues with Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr) set in Africa."

However, Prasad said that his son SS Rajamouli is currently busy with his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu, and will only think about his next project after he is done with the current one.

“Knowing my son’s temperament he will not pay any attention to the sequel-idea till the movie with Mahesh is finished. After that if he likes my script and if both the heroes like the script and if they have the time," said Prasad.

SS Rajamouli will next helm the film tentatively titled ‘SSMB 29’, which will see Mahesh Babu in an Indiana Jones-like adventure film.

Earlier, Prasad had also confirmed that both Telugu superstars, Ram Charan and Jr NTR, will return for the sequel. However, ‘RRR’ sequel may not continue the same storyline. It is likely to be based on another chapter from the Telugu states of the pre-Independence era.

V Vijayendra Prasad also shared that SS Rajamouli is starting a production house, which will be managed by his son SS Karthikeya.

‘RRR’ is a Telugu film that was dubbed in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam among Indian languages.

The film tells a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters -- Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, with Ram Charan and Jr NTR playing the lead roles. Besides Ram Charan and Jr NTR, ‘RRR’ also featured Bollywood superstars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.
