"Zubaan Fisal Gayi": Abdul Razzaq Apologises After Passing Distasteful Remarks About Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Watch
Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has apologised after passing distasteful remarks about actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has apologised after passing distasteful remarks about actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. For the unversed, the former cricketer had made the comments earlier this week at a public panel where he was joined by former cricketers such as Umar Gul, and Shahid Afridi, and both of them had applauded and chuckled at Razzaq's remarks.
In a video apology posted on Twitter, Razzaq said that it was not his intention to hurt anybody's sentiments.
The former cricketer also said that he wanted to use a different analogy but because of a slip of tongue, he ended up taking the name of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
"Kal press conference me cricket ki baat ho rahi thi, coaching ki baat ho rahi thi aur intention ki baat ho rahi thi. Meri zubaan fisal gayi, maine example kuch aur dena tha, par Aishwarya ji ka naam muh se nikal gaya. Me apologise karta hu, sorry kehta hu unse. Meri aisi koi intention nahi thi. I really apologise," said Razzaq.

Amidst the huge backlash on social media, Shahid Afridi also condemned Razzaq's comments and he justified himself laughing on the stage, saying he hadn't heard the exact comments then.
“Razzaq ne baat kari, mujhe samajh nahi aayi stage pe. Me ghar aaya hu to kisi ne clip share kari ki use baat ki kya hai. To jab maine suna ki Razzaq ne kya kaha, mujhe ajeeb sa laga. Me Razzaq ko message karunga ki sorry kahe sabse," Afridi said on Samaa TV.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar also tweeted about the same, saying no woman should be disrespected like this.
I highly condemn the inappropriate joke/comparison made by Razzaq.

No woman should be disrespected like this.
People seated beside him should have raised their voice right away rather than laughing & clapping.
Earlier, while criticising the PCB management, Abdul Razzaq used Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as an example, implying that marrying her would never guarantee a well-mannered child. The comment which was said in Urdu, elicited laughter from some members from the audience, including former Pakistan cricketers Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is yet to react to this statement. Talking about the actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam's ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’.
Besides Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Parthiban, and Vikram Prabhu reprised their roles in the second installment of the hit 2022 film.
The epic film franchise narrated the story of the Chola Dynasty. It is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy's five-part novel series of the same name.
