It ain't over until it's over! This saying was proved right by Australia batter Glenn Maxwell as he produced arguably the greatest ODI innings of all time to help Australia snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Chasing 292, Australia found themselves reeling at one stage as they were reduced to 91/7 in the 19th over. However, Glenn Maxwell who is known as the 'Big Show', played a whirlwind unbeaten knock of 201 runs off just 128 balls to help Australia register a three-wicket win with 19 balls to spare.

For the uninitiated, if Afghanistan had defeated Australia, Pakistan's road to the semi-finals would have gotten all the more difficult, but Australia's victory keeps Pakistan's chances alive.

Talking about the match between Afghanistan and Australia, the former batted first and posted 291/5 in the allotted 50 overs, owing to an unbeaten 129-run knock by opening batter Ibrahim Zadran.

Australia got off to a bad start in their chase and the side lost all their frontline batters except Maxwell by the 19th over.

However, Maxwell formed an unbeaten stand of 202 runs for the eighth wicket with captain Pat Cummins to take Australia over the line.

Australia also sealed their semi-final spot with this win, and the five-time World Cup champions will be taking on South Africa in the semi-finals.
