Afghanistan cricketer Rahmanullah Gurbaz showed he is just like many of us – a big Shah Rukh Khan fan.
Cricket World Cup 2023 bandwagon finally reached India amid much fanfare, and the tournament is progressing well, especially for hosts India, who have all the three matches they have played so far. While all eyes are on the action on-field, the year 2023 has belonged to another entity. His name Shah Rukh Khan! First with ‘Pathaan’, then with ‘Jawan’, Shah Rukh Khan has ruled over the box office like a true king. His popularity has no end, and it was clear to see that even at the Cricket World Cup 2023, Shah Rukh Khan fever has caught on.
Afghanistan cricketer Rahmanullah Gurbaz showed he is just like many of us – a Shah Rukh Khan fan. The Afghan cricketer went a step further, even calling himself a “student” of King Khan.
Gurbaz channeled his inner Shah Rukh Khan by mimicking the actor’s iconic poses, and even sang briefly SRK’s superhit song ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’.

While off the field, Gurbaz has been grabbing eyeballs with his Shah Rukh Khan antics, he has caught the eye also with his on-field performances in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023.
He started with a balanced 47 against Bangladesh but could only manage 21 against India. He roared back to form with a fine 80 in Afghanistan’s historic win over defending champions England.
Afghanistan has played 3 matches, winning one of them in the tournament so far.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has been basking in the glory of his double success. Having broken all the box-office records with ‘Pathaan’, SRK went even better with ‘Jawan’ as it became the highest-grossing Hindi movie of all time.
Shah Rukh Khan is not done yet. He will be seen one more time this year, in the form of Rajkumar’s ‘Dunki’. A lot is expected out of the movie, but it will face stiff competition from Prabhas’ Salaar.
