IPL 2024: Gautam Gambhir has revealed Shah Rukh Khan's special message after he joined KKR as a mentor.

The biggest T20 tournament is here! IPL 2024 will be starting on March 22 with the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, many eyes are on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as well and how they will perform. The KKR franchise has brought back two-time IPL-winning captain Gautam Gambhir as the mentor for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. For the unversed, Gautam Gambhir won IPL two times for KKR in 2012 and 2014.

In the latest trending news, Gautam Gambhir has revealed what KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan told him after he joined the franchise as a mentor.

“Firstly, I want to say one thing -- I'm a very tough guy to handle. I have to thank SRK and Venky bhai (CEO Venky Mysore) who is here as well... They have taken a lot of my tantrums, and stubbornness for such a long period of time," said Gautam Gambhir during an event in Kolkata.

"Kyun ke sach yeh hai ki hum sachchai se ladna jaante hai, hum haar na jaante hai, aur hum jitna bhi jaante hain," he added.

Further speaking about what SRK told him, Gautam Gambhir said, "He said, 'This is your franchise, make it or break it.' He told me exactly the same thing. I don't know what's going to happen, but I can assure you that whenever I leave this place, we will be in a much better position."

For the unversed, Gambhir was told the same thing by SRK, once he joined the team as a player way back in 2011.

KKR will open their IPL 2024 campaign on March 23 with the match against SunRisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Speaking of SRK, he was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki'. The actor had a smashing 2023 as he delivered three box office hits, which made more than Rs 2,500 crore worldwide.

The actor is yet to announce his next project.
