A video showing Japanese content creators recreating a scene from Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ has gone insanely viral on the internet.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who recently made his OTT series debut with ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, gave us the romantic hit movie ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ in 2013. The Bollywood romantic drama film starred Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles, with an ensemble cast including Richa Chadha, Supriya Pathak, Gulshan Devaiah and Sharad Kelkar. The plot of the movie, set in rural Gujarat, revolved around the forbidden love between Ram (Ranveer Singh), and Leela (Deepika Padukone).
The film also featured a memorable soundtrack, composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, with songs like ‘Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun’, ‘Laal Ishq’, ‘Nagada Sang Dhol’, and ‘Lahu Munh Lag Gaya’, which became insanely popular among audiences. The film is still a fan favourite owing to its breathtaking sets, soulful songs, powerful dialogues and more.
Turns out, the film has a fan base not just in India but in Japan as well. A video of Japanese content creators Mayo Japan and Kake Taku, who have watched the film, recreating a few scenes from the movie’s song ‘Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun’ has gone insanely viral on Instagram.

‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, featuring lavish sets, stunning visuals and powerful performances, was a commercial success, grossing over Rs 117 crore in India and minting Rs 218 crore globally.
The movie was produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Kishore Lulla. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Monty Sharma directed the music of the film.
