It just feels like yesterday that Team India managed to break their ICC trophy jinx and lifted the T20 World Cup title. For the unversed, the Rohit Sharma-led Team India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the T20 World Cup final last week in Bridgetown, Barbados. To celebrate the victory, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) organised an open-top bus parade in Mumbai on Thursday evening, and fans turned out in huge numbers, once again proving, why cricket is nothing short of a religion in the country.

In the latest entertainment news, a video is going viral on social media, in which Rohit Sharma can be seen striking Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic pose on top of the parade bus. After doing so, even Rohit Sharma couldn't help but smile.

After the open-bus parade, the BCCI also handed out a cash prize of Rs 125 crore to Team India players and support staff.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rahul Dravid also gave speeches at the Wankhede Stadium, much to the joy of the crowd, who had gathered in huge numbers.

“Firstly… since we came to India, it's been wonderful. The reception we've received here tells you the kind of enthusiasm people had for this trophy. Yes, of course, it means so much for us but it's for the entire nation. Along with all the players who have represented the country, I think the people who've been wanting us to win the trophy, it [trophy] belongs to them," Rohit said.

Team India arrived in India on Thursday morning after being stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. Upon their arrival, the entire contingent met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, and then they travelled to Mumbai for the victory parade.

Earlier, SRK had also reacted to Team India's victory parade, and he wrote on X (formerly Twitter),
"Seeing the boys so happy and emotional fills my heart with pride…. As Indians this is such an amazing moment – to see our boys take us to such great heights!!! Love u all my Team India… and now dance away all night long. Boys in Blue take away all the blues! Big Congratulations to the @BCCI, @JayShah and the entire support staff that has worked tirelessly behind the scenes so that our boys could soar!!”

Team India defeated South Africa in the finals of the T20 World Cup on Saturday, and as a result, the side won an ICC event after a gap of 11 years. The team also won the T20 World Cup for the second time, after 2007.

After the T20 World Cup win, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20Is.
