International publication Variety has published its annual list of 500 most influential people in showbusiness and in a remarkable update, 10 Indians feature on the list. Shah Rukh Khan who has had a smashing year after giving blockbusters like 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan', also features in the list. 'RRR' director SS Rajamouli and actor Jr NTR are also a part of the marquee list.

Shah Rukh Khan and JR NTR are the only actors on the list. Other Indians on the list include Aditya Chopra, and producers Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ektaa Kapoor and Bhushan Kumar.

Businessman Mukesh Ambani, who owns  media company Viacom18, is also on the list as are Red Sea Film Festival founder Shivani Pandya Malhotra and NP Singh, CEO of Sony Pictures.

For the unversed, Variety picks its list of list of 500 from those "who innovate, take risks, stimulate growth and make impactful moves that attract the attention of both consumers and industry professionals."

While talking about SRK, Variety wrote, "Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a roaring comeback in 2023 with the two biggest hits of the year – Pathaan and Jawan, the latter produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the production company and VFX house he co-founded. In the process, the great romantic star of the modern era, known at home as "SRK," the "King of Bollywood" or simply "King Khan," reinvented himself as an action hero."

Speaking of SRK, the actor's latest release 'Dunki' has released in theatres today, and it needs to be seen whether it manages to recreate the success of 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan'.

'Dunki', directed by Rajkumar Hirani, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.

Talking about Jr NTR, Variety wrote, "NTR Jr, as he is known, has the chameleon-like ability to slip into any role while maintaining the larger-than-life hero quality that is essential for mainstream Indian cinema success."
