Tamannaah Bhatia Opens Up On Receiving “Nasty” Hate On Social Media
Tamannaah Bhatia talked about combatting the “nasty” hate she sometimes gets on social media.
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been in the limelight for numerous reasons in the recent past. The beautiful actress made headlines for her relationship with actor Vijay Varma before grabbing eyeballs for some sizzling scenes in new Hindi web series ‘Jee Karda’. Having made her name in the South Indian film industry, Tamannaah Bhatia has quickly become one of the most well-known faces in Bollywood. While she gets a lot of love from her fans on social media, there are numerous trolls who don’t have some nice things to say.
Speaking to author Luke Coutinho about combatting the “nasty” hate she sometimes gets on social media, Tamannaah Bhatia said, “"In this journey (in films), there comes a time for everyone, when there is a lot of hate directed towards you and inevitably on social media because it is mostly faceless people literally writing anything they feel like about you, which can be really nasty. For me, when that happened to me for the first moment, it took me by a storm and I was very uncomfortable with it because it really made me feel like what's going on? Is something that I have done gone wrong?"
The 33-year-old also spoke about the moral policing that takes place on social media.
"When I spent some time on my own, I literally asked myself 'Where do you think this comes from?' Sometimes there is a lot of moral policing people do, not realising that you are an actor, you are a performer and they expect you to be an idealistic version of something that is ideal in their way, in their head.”
“So, it is not necessary that what they are projecting towards you is about you, it's actually about them," said Tamannaah Bhatia.
Tamannaah Bhatia has been in the public eye in recent times due to her relationship with Vijay Varma.
The duo confirmed their relationship earlier this year after months of dating rumours.
Recently, Vijay Varma even talked about the media frenzy around his relationship with Tamannaah Bhatia.
The ‘Darlings’ actor said, “I think I was doing fairly good on my own. The pap situation kind of escalated a bit as soon as I started seeing Tamannaah. That's where the paps lost their minds. And I couldn't control it. And there were times they came right at my doorstep and nobody came to my building before that. And I walked up to my building gate and I said ‘Do not ever come back. I live in this isolated part of Andheri that nobody should know where I live and don’t go tell your friends where I stay,” he said during the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2023.
