'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' Makers Call Jennifer Mistry's Allegations "Desperate" And "Cheap Publicity"
Sohil Ramani, one of the show runners of 'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah', was accused by Jennifer Mistry of sexual harassment.
'Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah' is making news for all the wrong reasons. Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Mrs Roshan Sodhi in the TV show, recently revealed that she quit the show in March this year and she also alleged that the makers of the show sexually assaulted her. One of the accused is Sohil Ramani, who is the project head of the TV show.
In the latest entertainment news, Ramani has retaliated by saying that the accusation is a fabrication of lies.
“We have removed her from the show three months ago and now she is desperate. She is unable to find work, so she is just doing it to blackmail us. It is cheap for publicity,” Ramani told the Hindustan Times.
“She has been working with us for 15 years, shooting mein bohot saare utar chadhav hote hai. We have ignored her characteristics such as creating rifts among others, coming two hours late for shoot, creating misunderstandings. We have a lot of evidence against her," she added.
Earlier, in an interview with a news portal, Mistry had narrated an incident from March 4 where she was "asked to get off the sets four times by Sohil".
“That is wrong. She had taken permission to leave early by 2pm, but then on that day, she wanted to leave sooner. I had changed our entire schedule for her. She is telling lies," Ramani said.
“We have a committee of women, why did she never complain to the committee? All of us have never even entered a female artist’s makeup room. She is playing the woman card," he added.
Mistry had also revealed that she has filed a sexual harassment case against Ramani and show producer Asit Modi.
“We will take legal action as she is trying to defame me and the show both. Since we terminated her services, she is making these baseless allegations," Modi said in an official statement.
