Uber-popular show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC)' has been making the news for all the wrong reasons. It all started with one of the actors -- Jennifer Mistry, accusing producer Asit Modi of harassment. Now, in the latest entertainment news, another actress Monika Bhadoriya, who played the role of Baga’s love interest Bawri, has made some startling revelations, opening up on the toxic environment on the show's set.

In a fresh interview, the actress has claimed that the makers of the show torture the artists and do not follow the rules laid by Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).

"I was a very different kind of person when I joined TMKOC and the show completely changed me. When I looked at myself, I thought ‘What have I become working with them?’ There was a lot of negativity. So I left TMKOC and worked on myself. They used to torture me and I thought of committing suicide. The makers of TMKOC have their own set of rules which are different from the industry and they don’t follow the rules of CINTAA," The Indian Express quoted Monika as saying.

“When I left the show, nobody stood by my side. I approached the media and when the media wanted to talk to me, they made me sign a bond and said, ‘If you’ll sign these papers and not go to media, we will release your due payment, otherwise no.’  Even after signing the bond, they did not clear my payment. I called them for a year and at one point, they stopped picking up my calls. Someone told me ‘Call them and say I will go to CINTAA’," she stated further.

Monika then said that after she told them about approaching CINTAA, the production head called her and asked her to meet. She then said in the meeting, the production head Sohail started yelling at her.

“Waah, sab kuch aap hi k favour, hum gaali bhi khaye, torture bhi jhele, paise bhi na do, aur hum kahi nahi jaye," she said.

For the unversed, TMKOC is the longest-running show on Indian television.

It is produced by Asit Modi and recently, actors Jennifer Mistry and Shailesh Lodha had left the show.
