This Show Tops IMDb's 'Top 50 Most Popular Indian Web Series' List, 'Mirzapur' Second

IMDb has announced the top 50 most popular Indian web series of all time and the list is topped by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Pankaj Tripathi-starrer 'Sacred Games'. For the unversed, the show had first premiered in 2018, and the second season had aired on Netflix in 2019. The show has been deemed as the most popular based on page views of IMDb users in India. 'Sacred Games' is followed by 'Mirzapur' at the second spot while third place belongs to Hansal Mehta's 'Scam 1992'.
The top five is concluded by 'The Family Man' and 'Aspirants'.

The other prominent shows in the list are 'Breathe', 'Panchayat', 'Paatal Lok', 'Special Ops', 'Asur: Welcome to the Dark Side', 'Farzi', 'Inside Edge', 'Delhi Crime', 'Rocket Boys', 'Jamtara', 'Made in Heaven' and 'Maharani'.
“As the top two series on our list (Sacred Games, Mirzapur) celebrate their five-year anniversaries, we’re excited to help chart the short but impactful history of web series in India," Yaminie Patodia, head of IMDb India said in a statement.
The rankings were determined by the page views of IMDb customers in India between January 1, 2018 to May 10, 2023.
The five highest-rated series on the list include 'Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (9.3/10)', 'Aspirants (9.2/10)', 'Gullak (9.1/10)', 'TVF Pitchers (9.1/10)', and NCR Days (9.1/10)'.
“This recognition from IMDb truly reflects the transformative journey of content available to Indian viewers via the internet. As for what’s next, we’re all set to keep the momentum going, with a dash of unpredictability and a sprinkle of surprise—just like any binge-worthy series," the creator of 'Mirzapur', Karan Anshuman said.
