Aamir Khan Reunites With Rajkumar Hirani For Biopic On Dadasaheb Phalke. Deets Inside

The blockbuster duo of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani is back! After collaborating for '3 Idiots' and 'PK', Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are set for their third project together. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Thursday afternoon confirmed that Aamir Khan will be starring in Hirani's next directorial, which will be a biopic on the Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. Taran Adarsh also revealed that the shooting for the project will begin in October this year.
As per Taran Adarsh, the film will chronicle the journey of the man who eventually laid the foundation of Indian cinema.

"Set against the backdrop of #India's independence struggle, the film will chronicle the extraordinary journey of the man who laid the foundation of #Indian cinema. With a script that has been in the works for four years, #AamirKhan is set to begin prep soon after the release of #SitaareZameenPar... Shoot begins Oct 2025," he added.

Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's previous collaborations '3 Idiots' and 'PK' were monumental hits at the box office. However, Rajkumar Hirani's last directorial 'Dunki', starring SRK and Taapsee Pannu, received mixed response. And the film did not mint as much money as Hirani's previous few films such as 'PK' and 'Sanju'.
Speaking of Aamir Khan, he will next be seen in 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. The film will be releasing in cinemas on June 20, 2025. The trailer for the project was unveiled earlier this week.
For the unversed, Aamir Khan is returning to the big screen with this film after his 2022 release ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’. This time, he will be sharing screen space with Genelia Deshmukh.
The film is directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ and the biopic ‘On A Quest’. The screenplay has been penned by Divy Nidhi Sharma, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.
