Cinema has the unique ability to open doors into worlds that are often unseen or overlooked – and sometimes, it does more than just entertain. Aamir Khan’s latest release ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is doing exactly that. The film, praised by critics and audiences alike for its heart-warming narrative, recently sparked an emotional response that is now resonating deeply online. Aamir Khan Productions shared a heartfelt letter on Instagram written by a fan who watched the film with his specially-abled brother.

The emotional note detailed how, for the first time, the two felt truly seen on screen. The fan recalled the first words his brother said after the movie ended: “Yeh bilkul hum jaise hai na?”

Moved by his brother’s reaction, the fan wrote, “That's when I truly understood what you had done. You hadn't just made a movie. You had opened a door to our world and invited the entire country inside.” He called it “the power of representation on screen.”

The heart-warming letter also revealed a touching personal anecdote from nearly three decades ago. The fan shared that his brother had met Aamir Khan during a film shoot 28 years ago.

Describing the moment, he wrote, “You were patient with him, kind, and the sweetest one could ever be. You took a photo, shared a moment. That boy treasures that memory still.”

He ended the letter with a heartfelt request for Aamir Khan to meet his brother again, this time on his birthday.

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, directed by RS Prasanna, features Aamir Khan as a disgraced basketball coach assigned to mentor a group of specially-abled children as part of his community service.

The movie also stars Genelia Deshmukh and 10 new actors – Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ earned Rs 8.50 crore on Monday, the fourth day of its release. The film witnessed a drop of more than 65 per cent from its Sunday collections.

The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 66.65 crore. Worldwide, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ has gone past the Rs 100 crore mark. In India, the new Hindi film has gone past the lifetime collection of Aamir's last project ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in just four days.

But beyond its commercial success, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is earning something far more meaningful: heartfelt gratitude from audiences who finally feel seen.
