Is Aamir Khan's 'Sitaare Zameen Par' going to clash with Varun Dhawan's 'Baby John'?

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who was last seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' is gearing up for his comeback with 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. The new Hindi film is slated to release this year, and in the latest entertainment news, as per Pinkvilla journalist Himesh Mankad, there are no postponement plans, and the upcoming Hindi film is on track to hit the theatres on December 20, 2024. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Himesh Mankad wrote, "Those asking, yes, #SitareZameenPar is confirmed for a Christmas 2024 release. NO CHANGE in the release date of this #AamirKhan film at this point of time. The social dramedy, directed by #RSPrasanna will arrive on December 20, 2024."

For the unversed, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' also stars Genelia Deshmukh. If the film indeed releases in theatres on December 20, 2024, then it will be clashing against Varun Dhawan's 'Baby John' at the box office.

'Baby John', directed by Kalees, is slated to be released in cinemas on December 25, 2024. 'Sitare Zameen Par' will have five days run, before going head-to-head with 'Baby John'.

In an earlier interview during the promotions of his production venture 'Laapataa Ladies', Aamir Khan had spoken about 'Sitaare Zameen Par', and said, "I have started shooting for my new film, Sitaare Zameen Par from February 1. It is the next level of Taare Zameen Par, it is like part 2. It is not the same story and the characters are also not the same.”

It is important to mention that Akshay Kumar's 'Welcome to the Jungle' is also currently slated to release in cinemas on December 20, 2024. However, as per several reports, the film is likely to be postponed.

Coming back to 'Baby John', the movie marks the Hindi film debut of Keerthy Suresh and also features Wamiqa Gabbi. The action entertainer’s star cast also includes Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav.

Directed by A. Kaleeswaran, ‘Baby John’ marks Varun Dhawan’s first collaboration with A. Kaleeswaran and Atlee, who is producing the movie.

Besides Atlee, the film is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande. The project is presented by Jio Studios in association with A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios.

For the unversed, ‘Baby John’ is the official Hindi remake of director Atlee’s ‘Theri’, which starred Thalapathy Vijay, Samantha and Amy Jackson.
