Fawad Khan is all set to make his comeback to Indian cinema with the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Abir Gulaal’, co-starring Vaani Kapoor.
Pakistani actor Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with ‘Khoobsurat’, starring alongside Sonam Kapoor Ahuja. His portrayal of the charming Prince Vikram Singh Rathore won him a Filmfare Award. In 2016, Fawad impressed audiences again in ‘Kapoor & Sons’, sharing the screen with Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. The same year, he left a mark with his role in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. For years, fans have been yearning to see Fawad’s Bollywood comeback.
And looks like their wait is about to end as the beloved star is all set to make his much-awaited comeback with ‘Abir Gulaal’. Co-starring Vaani Kapoor, the film is set to release in cinemas on May 9. The Bollywood actress shared the teaser of the upcoming rom-com on Instagram.

In the video clip, Fawad Khan can be seen singing ‘Kuchh Na Kaho’ from the film ‘1942: A Love Story’. Vaani Kapoor can be seen sitting next to Fawad Khan in a car as he sings the song. The duo can also be seen enjoying the rain. Vaani Kapoor's character then asks him, “Abir Singh, flirt kar rahe ho?”
To this, Fawad replies, “Do you want me to?” The teaser then comes to an end with the text reading, “Bringing love back.”
Soon after the teaser surfaced online, several social media users reacted to it. One user wrote, “The world is healing. This era is finally back?!”
Another wrote, “The moment I opened my eyes, I saw this... good days are back. His eyes!”

For the unversed, ‘Abir Gulaal’ has been directed by Aarti S Bagdi, while it has been produced by Indian Stories and A Richer Lens in association with Aarjay Pictures.
The film marks Fawad Khan's comeback to Bollywood after nine years. He was last seen in Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
In 2016, an unofficial ban was imposed on Pakistani artists working in Indian films following political turmoil between the two countries. However, in 2023, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition seeking to officially ban Pakistani artists from working in India.
Meanwhile, Vaani Kapoor was last seen in ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Apart from ‘Abir Gulaal’, she will be seen playing the female lead in Ajay Devgn’s ‘Raid 2’. She is also set to make her web series debut with ‘Mandala Murders’, bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. It will premiere on Netflix.
