"Hai Kisi Me Majaal...": Akshay Kumar's Fiery Response To Themes Explored In 'OMG 2'. Watch
Akshay Kumar has made a bold statement regarding 'OMG 2' and the themes the movie addressed.
The year 2023 has turned out to be a mixed bag for Akshay Kumar. The superstar started the year on the worst possible note as his film 'Selfiee' tanked miserably at the box office. Then in August, Akshay Kumar returned to the silver screen with 'OMG 2' which also starred Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. Despite clashing with 'Gadar 2', the Akshay Kumar-starrer found love and appreciation from the audience and it went on to do a business of more than Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office. For the unversed, 'OMG 2' deals with sensitive topics like sex education and masturbation.
In his latest interview with news agency ANI, Akshay Kumar said that 'OMG 2' is actually made for children but they cannot see it because it got an 'adults only' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
"Aapko OMG 2 acchi lagi? Par hain kisi me majaal ki koi masturbation or sex education par film banaye? Mujhe aap bata dijiye kisi bhi actor ka naam, chahe yahan dekhlo ya Hollywood dekhlo. Main khud he produce karta hoon na, to main apne uppar paise kaise lelu? Jitni kamayi meri kamayi, nahi kamayi toh nahi kamayi," said Akshay Kumar.
"It is my way of giving back to my society. I know if I do one Singh is Kinng, or Sooryavanshi, or Rowdy Rathore, I will make 3-4 times more. Agar aap mujhse puche, to mujhe Airlift karne me maza aata hai. It’s not about money. I know the business isn’t even that much but it’s not about the business,” he added.

Further speaking about 'OMG 2', Akshay Kumar said, "I made that film for children. It is a film to be shown to children. Unfortunately, it cannot be shown because it was given an adult film certificate and there is nothing adult in it. There is nothing."
"Jo cut theatre me the, wahi cut OTT version main bhi hai. I could have done that (shown the uncensored version) but I wanted to respect the censor board and I delivered what the censor board passed," he added.
Akshay Kumar also revealed that 'OMG 2's story actually happened in real life where a student was "caught" and expelled from his school.
"The incident shown in OMG 2 actually happened. The child was caught in school and was removed," he said.
Talking about Akshay Kumar, the actor was last seen in 'Mission Raniganj', and despite receiving glowing reviews, the movie has just managed to earn Rs 16.90 crore so far. For the unversed, the movie had released in theatres on October 6, 2023.
