Akshay Kumar has been having a lean run at the box office and the superstar would now be hoping for his upcoming release 'Sarfira' to work wonders at the box office. The upcoming Hindi film, which is a remake of Suriya's smash-hit 'Soorarai Pottru', is set to release in cinemas on July 12, 2024. In the latest entertainment news, 'Sarfira' has now become the most-watched Hindi trailer of 2024. For the unversed, 'Sarfira' is said to be the biopic of GR Gopinathh, the founder of Indian low-cost airline Simplify Deccan

Akshay Kumar desperately needs 'Sarfira' to work at the box office as his previous release 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' bombed. Made on a massive budget of Rs 350 crore, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' was not even able to cross the Rs 100 crore mark.

The production house 'Pooja Entertainment', which is behind 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' has reportedly been suffering huge losses, and recently, the production company revealed that Akshay Kumar has stepped in and he will be helping to resolve the situation.

“Akshay sir met me recently to discuss this matter. Upon learning about this situation, Akshay sir didn’t hesitate to step forward and show his support for the crew. He has insisted that his payments be placed on hold until every single crew member working on our projects receive their full and final payment. We are incredibly grateful for Akshay sir’s understanding and his willingness to stand with us during this time. The movie business hinges on strong relationships and that is the spirit we strive to foster in the industry,” Jackky Bhagnani said in a statement, as per Indian Express.

Coming back to 'Sarfira', the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Radhikka Madan, and Seema Biswas in key roles. As per the makers, 'Sarfira' will try and motivate the audiences to dream big and chase their aspirations, no matter what.

The film is written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues penned by Pooja Tolani.

'Sarfira' has been directed by National Award-winning director Sudha Kongara. The upcoming Hindi movie has been bankrolled by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment).

On the work front, Akshay Kumar has several movies lined up. After 'Sarfira', Akshay Kumar will be seen in 'Khel Khel Mein', 'Sky Force', 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Jolly LLB 3', 'Shankara', and 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat'.

Akshay Kumar will also be having extended cameo appearances in 'Singham Again' and 'Kannappa'.
