Sarfira Advance Booking: Akshay Kumar's Film Sells Just 16K Tickets, Earns Rs 33 Lakh
Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' is unlikely to deliver a double-digit opening.
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has been having a lean run at the box office, and he is now hoping for his latest release 'Sarfira' to change his fortunes around. However, in the latest entertainment news, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Sarfira' has so far sold just 16,484 tickets for the opening day, grossing Rs 33.46 lakh. Going by the current advance booking trend, it is unlikely that the film will be able register a double digit opening. For the unversed, Akshay Kumar is yet to deliver a box office hit after 2022's 'Sooryavanshi', and he has now given seven box office flops in a row. Akshay Kumar's previous release 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' also tanked at the box office. Made on a budget of more than Rs 300 crore, the Hindi film was not even able to make Rs 100 crore in India.
For the unversed, Akshay Kumar's 'Selfiee' and 'Mission Raniganj' had failed to register an opening of more than Rs 3 crore. The actor would now be hoping that 'Sarfira' does not suffer the same fate.
The movie would be now banking on positive reviews. It is important to mention that 'Sarfira' will be competing against Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2', Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', and 'Kill' at the ticket counters.
Coming back to 'Sarfira', the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Radhikka Madan, and Seema Biswas in key roles. As per the makers, 'Sarfira' will try and motivate the audiences to dream big and chase their aspirations, no matter what.
The film is written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues penned by Pooja Tolani.
'Sarfira' has been directed by National Award-winning director Sudha Kongara. The upcoming Hindi movie has been bankrolled by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment).
The upcoming Hindi film is a remake of Suriya's smash-hit 'Soorarai Pottru'. Earlier, the film's trailer had become the most-watched Hindi trailer of 2024.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar has several movies lined up. After 'Sarfira', Akshay Kumar will be seen in 'Khel Khel Mein', 'Sky Force', 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Jolly LLB 3', 'Shankara', and 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat'.
Akshay Kumar will also be having extended cameo appearances in 'Singham Again' and 'Kannappa'.
