Ameesha Patel Claims Kareena Kapoor Was Asked To "Leave" 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai'
Ameesha Patel has claimed that director Rakesh Roshan asked Kareena Kapoor to “leave” 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai'.
Actress Ameesha Patel is currently riding high on the success of her new Hindi movie 'Gadar 2'. The movie directed by Anil Sharma which also stars Sunny Deol and Utkarsh Sharma, has breached the Rs 500 crore mark, and is now only the second Bollywood film to achieve this milestone. Now it needs to be seen whether it manages to break the record of 'Pathaan' to become the most successful Bollywood film.
Ameesha Patel had made her Bollywood debut in 2000 in Rakesh Roshan's 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai' alongside Hrithik Roshan. Not many people know but it was Kareena Kapoor who was chosen to play the lead alongside Hrithik, but after shooting for a few days, Kareena was replaced by Ameesha Patel.
In the latest entertainment news, Ameesha Patel has claimed that director Rakesh Roshan asked Kareena Kapoor to leave the film.
“Actually, she didn't back out. From what Rakesh ji told me, he asked her to leave the film because they were having differences. And Pinkie [Roshan] aunty, his wife and Hrithik's mom, said that they were shocked because the set was ready, and a replacement Sonia had to be found in three days, and crores of rupees (had been spent) on that set, and it was Hrithik's debut and everyone was stressed," Ameesha Patel told Bollywood Bubble.
"Pinky aunty told me that the day Rakesh saw me at the wedding, he did not sleep all night. He was like ‘I got my Sonia, I got my Sonia, but I hope she says yes'. Rakesh uncle always says, ‘This girl paid attention to everything I taught her on sets.' He always praises me and says I was a blessing in disguise," she added.
Talking about 'Gadar 2', the film earned Rs 8.50 crore nett in India on its 24th day, as per early estimates. After its fourth Sunday’s collection, the total collection of ‘Gadar 2’ in India now stands at Rs 501.87 crore. Notably, it has become the fastest Hindi movie to reach this milestone, leaving movies like 'Pathaan' and 'Baahubali 2' behind.
‘Gadar 2’, helmed by Anil Sharma, also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead role. The new Hindi movie was released alongside Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam’s ‘OMG 2’ on August 11.
Besides Sunny Deol, Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel, ‘Gadar 2’ also stars Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Rakesh Bedi and Dolly Bindra.
The popular songs from the 2001 original, ‘Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ have been recreated for ‘Gadar 2’.
