Talking about the ‘Rolls Royce’ of bags, Ameesha Patel said that Hermes Birkin is the most expensive bag that she owns.
She said, “If you ask me which one I would like to call the ‘Rolls Royce’ of bags, then it's the Birkin by Hermes. It's the most sought after, and difficult bag to get. You can be on a waiting list for five to ten years and not even get it after that. But I didn’t have to wait very long. I was fortunate.”
Further elaborating, Ameesha Patel said, “The one I have is a croc Birkin. Birkin on its own is very difficult to get but when it comes in exotic skin which is ostrich, lizard, snake, or crocodile skin, it's very hard to get. The exotic skin is the most valuable like you can buy a house in place of this bag.”
She further went on to speak about the price and confessed that it is almost worth Rs 60 to 70 lakh but added that it is cheaper than the bags that celebrities like Rihanna and Victoria Beckham own.
“This bag is the most expensive. The ones that Victoria Beckham and Rihanna and all have diamonds which go into millions, so this is actually very cheap compared to the bags they have but this is the most expensive bag I would have in my collection,” Ameesha Patel added.
However, netizens took to the comment section of the post and slammed Ameesha Patel for “promoting” and “glorifying” the use of animal skin.
One social media user wrote, “animal skin bag.. hmm .. Peta wale kaha Mar gaye ??? animal cruelty nahi dikh rahi ya paise mil designer se ???”
Another one added, “I cant even listen to her talking about these damn bags animals have been TORTURED for. How can you like wearing a bag when knowing animals have been tortured for it…. Smh. Ppl think they have the right to “own” anything.”
“Uhmm all I can hear and see is animal cruelty. I used to find her cute...but this is so damn cruel mahn,” another user commented.
“Why are you so proud to own a bag for which an animal was killed,” a comment on the post read.
Another one added, “Shame on you… very bad… promoting to use animal skin.”
“How pathetic she is glorifying the cruelty on animals and shamelessly gloating about it..... Itna Barra sar , phir bhi aqal ratti barabar,” another comment on the post read.
