Ameesha Patel Reveals Why She Never Worked With Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Yash Raj Films
Ameesha Patel has revealed why she has never worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Yash Raj Films.
Actress Ameesha Patel is currently riding high on the success of her latest film 'Gadar 2'. The new Hindi movie, directed by Anil Sharma which also stars Sunny Deol, recently crossed the Rs 500 crore mark, and it needs to be seen whether it manages to break the record of 'Pathaan' to become the most successful Bollywood film ever. Ameesha Patel had made her Bollywood debut in 2000 with Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai'. However, after this, Ameesha starred in several unsuccessful projects, except 'Gadar'.
In the latest entertainment news, Ameesha Patel has opened up on missing out on a lot of projects from successful directors.
"There were talks for a very good project. But I don't want to mention its name, because the film has already been made. Unfortunately, my manager at that time and Mr Bhansali were not getting along. Once I parted ways amicably with that manager, Bhansali told me that there were moments when we were supposed to work together," Ameesha Patel said in an interview with Siddharth Kannan.
"But, he said, he did not want to deal with my manager. Even Yash Raj Films, Sajid Nadiadwala, and others told me later that they were too scared to approach me because of the person managing my work. So, I missed out on numerous promising projects, directors, and producers due to mismanagement rather than proper management. But that's destiny," she added.
In an earlier interview, Ameesha Patel had also spoken about how 'Gadar 2' director Anil Sharma wanted Govinda and Mamta Kulkarni as Tara Singh and Sakeena for the original film.
Recently, Ameesha Patel had also said that she won't do Gadar 3, if Tara and Sakeena don't have enough screen time.
‘Gadar 2’, helmed by Anil Sharma, also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead role. The new Hindi movie was released alongside Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam’s ‘OMG 2’ on August 11.
The film is a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was also directed by Anil Sharma. ‘Gadar’ was a massive hit in 2001, when it clashed against the critically acclaimed ‘Lagaan’, which starred Aamir Khan.
