‘Animal’ Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga Wants To Touch Ranbir Kapoor’s Feet. Here's Why
‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been all praise for Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. The trailer of the film has generated a lot of buzz, and it has resulted in phenomenal advance ticket sales.
Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga of ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh’ fame is gearing up for the release of his third directorial titled ‘Animal’. The new Hindi movie, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri, is slated to release in theatres on December 1. Going by the trailer, the upcoming Hindi movie will be exploring the twisted and complicated relationship between a father and son. The trailer of the film has generated a lot of buzz, and it has resulted in phenomenal advance ticket sales.
At a recent press event, Sandeep Reddy Vanga praised Ranbir Kapoor as he went on to say that he has not met anyone like the Bollywood actor. Lauding his acting prowess, the director said that he sometimes feels like touching Ranbir Kapoor’s feet.
“Ranbir might be younger to me but when I see him performing, I feel like touching his feet and taking his blessings. I haven’t seen anyone with so much patience,” Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, as per The Indian Express.
For the unversed, ‘Animal’ has been given an 'A' (adults only) certificate and the runtime of the film is more than three hours. However, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is confident that Ranbir Kapoor's performance will keep the audience entertained.
“The first cut of Animal was 3 hours 45 or 46 minutes. I chopped till 3:21. I have seen the film multiple times and it is an engaging film. Ranbir is a great performer and will not let the audience relax for a second,” Sandeep Reddy Vanga had earlier told the Hindu.
‘Animal’ has already sold more than five lakh tickets in India for the opening day, grossing Rs 13.95 crore.
Out of these five lakh tickets, more than two lakh tickets are from national cinema chains (PVR, INOX and Cinepolis), and the film is slated to sell around four and five lakh tickets prior to release in just the major national cinema chains, as per Pinkvilla.
If the movie manages to sell these many tickets, then ‘Animal’ would be ensuring a place in the top-five advance sellers ever.
Speaking of Ranbir Kapoor, his biggest hit till date is Rajkumar Hirani's ‘Sanju’ as it grossed nearly Rs 600 crore worldwide.
‘Animal’ is expected to deliver the biggest opening of his career, with current projections targeting Rs 50 crore on Day 1.
For the unversed, 'Animal' will be going up against Vicky Kaushal's ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office. 'Sam Bahadur' has been directed by Meghna Gulzar, and the film is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. It also stars Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
‘Sam Bahadur’ has so far sold 38,556 tickets across India, grossing Rs 1.24 crore.
