Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul welcome a baby girl.

Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty and Indian cricketer KL Rahul are all set to embrace parenthood after welcoming their first child, a baby girl on Monday. The duo announced the arrival of the new born on social media through an adorable post. On Monday, the couple took to Instagram to share a joint post, announcing the happy news. KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty posted a painting of two swans with a message, reading, “Blessed with a baby girl.”

Soon after the post surfaced online, several Indian celebrities reacted to the news. Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, “Congratulations” and added a heart emoji.

“Congratulations,” commented actress Sharvari Wagh.

Bhumi Pednekar also reacted to the post, dropping heart emojis. Shanaya Kapoor wrote, “Congratulations,” along with a red heart emoji.

Athiya Shetty's father Sunil Shetty also shared the special news on his Instagram Story.

It was in November 2024 that Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul had taken to Instagram to confirm pregnancy. Athiya along with Rahul shared a joint note, saying, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025.”

KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty had tied the knot in January 2023. For the unversed, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul started dating in 2019 after they met through a common friend and made their relationship official on Instagram in 2020.

In 2022, they made their first public appearance at Athiya's brother Ahan Shetty's ‘Tadap’ film premiere.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Athiya Shetty was last seen in the 2024 film ‘Go Noni Go’. Prior to this, she featured in the 2019 movie ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’, co-starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The actress made her Bollywood debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi in 2015’s ‘Hero’.

Speaking of KL Rahul, he was a part of India's Champions Trophy-winning team. He will next be seen in action for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He missed the franchise's opening game against Lucknow Super Giants due to the birth of his first child.
